Katherine S. Kral

Katherine S. Kral, with experience as both a criminal prosecutor and criminal defense attorney, has successfully tried cases from both sides of the courtroom. She understands how to anticipate and counter opposing arguments, and her trial background creates a proactive, results-oriented approach to civil defense.

Now she represents companies and large insurance carriers primarily in matters involving personal injury, premises liability, employment disputes, and construction defects. Katherine is known for her thorough preparation, persuasive advocacy, and commitment to guiding clients through high-stakes litigation with clarity and confidence.

Katherine earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2020 through its accelerated two-year program. While there, she served on the Vermont Law Review and authored Melting ICE with RICO, which explored the potential prosecution of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Work History

Katherine initially served as a Deputy District Attorney in the 9th Judicial District, encompassing Rio Blanco County, Garfield County and Pitkin County. In this role she prosecuted criminal offenses on behalf of the State of Colorado. Katherine then transitioned to criminal defense, working with the well-known Harvey Steinberg, before switching to civil defense. Prior to the practice of law, Katherine was a licensed financial advisor, having worked at both Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.
