Thera Cooper

Thera Cooper is an enthusiastic litigator with over ten years of experience. By fostering effective communication with her clients, Thera thoroughly evaluates the case to craft recommendations leading to favorable outcomes at trial. Whether a dismissal, settlement, or vigorous defense at trial is required, Thera is an aggressive, thoughtful, and effective advocate for her clients.

Prior to attending law school, Thera spent many years in the pharmaceutical industry. That experience greatly informs Thera’s practical approach to her client’s matters. After law school, Thera began working as an associate in a boutique Nevada law firm, where she represented clients in state and federal matters involving the defense of multi-million-dollar construction defect claims, personal injury, premise liability, wrongful death, and other commercial/business litigation. She then moved on to a national firm where she represented national banks and mortgage servicers in matters pending before state and federal trial and appellate courts. Thera has also handled matters involving fidelity and surety claims, insurance coverage, real estate, and other general commercial disputes.

Thera joined Lasater & Martin in 2020, where she concentrates her practice on complex litigation matters, including fire and flood losses, commercial/business disputes, intellectual property rights, product liability, personal injury claims, and construction defects throughout Texas and Nevada. She was recognized in the 2024 edition of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America and in the National Black Lawyers Top 100.

In her free time, Thera enjoys volunteering, traveling, spending time with her two dogs, and is an active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
